We are seeking to hire a Senior Staff Accountant with 5 plus years of experience to join a national non profit organization here in the Los Angeles area.
This is for an immediate hire.
The Senior Staff Accountant will support the CFO, Controller, and Accounting manager with daily accounting functions.
Must be able to start immediately ResponsibilitiesMonitoring and reconciling data interfaces from various external computer databases into the accounting systemGenerating ad-hoc data extracts from accounting system using Structured Query Language (SQL)Monthly general accounting duties including expense allocations, journal entries, funds transfers, and account analysesAssist with special projects including testing of software upgrades and implementations.
Oversees point of sales system, including daily bank receipts for donations, /direct mail/grants and daily sales reporting.
Manages month-end close process.
Ensures all monthly postings are completed in a timely manner.
Identifies outstanding payables and receivables for accrual purposes.
Assists in income statement accounts reconciliation analyzing variances, initiating correction action.
Assist the Director of Finance in audit preparation and annual preparation of the 990.
Perform monthly balance sheet accounts for banks and investments.
Reviews other monthly balances sheet accounts prepared by the accounting supervisor.
Assist in compiling budget details and preparing annal budgets for board approval.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required bachelor's degree in accounting.
Computer experience needed in Excel and WordFive years professional experience in nonprofit accountingAbout the Company:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
